As a participant to many, I never thought that helping with the implementation of a project would be such a stressful bother. Then came this youth exchange that my mentor was facilitating, and I was given the opportunity to help out with it.
I really did enjoy the work, but I can't say it was comfortable. Practically being a lackey, I was there to help with literally whatever needed to be done, I hear my name, I get up from my ever constant nap on my computer keyboard, and I get to the task.
Staying up till late to make sure that the participants don't cause too much noise and trigger the neighbors to call the police (they were all from different countries, how were they supposed to know how Romania works) and then waking up early in the morning to start helping with whatever.
Then there was the metaphorical mine field, because some people were really stressed out, and one single mishap would've been enough to trigger them like a bomb. Stress, Stress everywhere. But I still enjoyed it a lot, got to practice my skills, and got to learn how to be more compliant with other peoples'... well, stuff. And in the end it was very rewarding to see the participants happy, and appreciating the project, and a bit melancholic too as they were all about to leave, but also a bit happy because they were going to leave because they were finally going to leave Romania.
To sum it up, yes, might've been a bit stressful, yes it might've made me feel bad at one point, but, in the end, when it was done, it did give me some sense of accomplishment, and I also got some time to get my mind together, so it turned out very nice.
