It has been almost two months since I decided to go on this wonderful journey called evs, in Craiova Romania.
Since I have gotten here I have been working in several kindergartens and schools inside and outside of Craiova. I came here without knowing what to expect, I had my hopes high that is for sure, and I wasn't disappointed which is good and awesome! I just had the will to change something in someone's life and in mine of course. I also wanted to travel and know other cultures and costumes. I have to say that even though I have only been here for a month and two weeks, I don't regret coming here.
I was extremely nervous with the idea of being away from my family and friends, going to a new country alone, without having previous knowledge of the language, it was a little bit difficult to process all the nerves. But I was well received here and I couldn't been more grateful for my colleagues and organization.
From all the different schools I went to, there are three that have a special place in my heart. One of them is Liceul Teoritic "Mihai Viteazul" Bailesti.
There we did the parachute activities and played some other games. They tried to teach me Romanian which was pretty fun and I helped them with their English.
Me with the kids from Bailesti.
In these last couple of days I've been developing countless skills. Such as being more creative and thinking outside of the box. And I also made new contacts and friendships with people from different countries.
Even though I feel comfortable with the volunteering work I've been doing, not everything has to be work related.
I went to the citadel of Rasnov, I went to Dracula's castle in Bran and also went to Brasov.
And that has been my journey so far. I'm excited for the months that are yet to come.
