Cooking Portuguese sweets to Romanian Kids

Hello beautiful readers,

The other day I had this beautiful idea with my coordinator to cook something Portuguese for the little kids. Since I had cooked Portuguese food for my coordinator as well we thought why not for the children? So I decided to cook Arroz Doce a.k.a Sweet Rice or how they say it in Romania Orez Dulce.

Keep in mind it was my first time cooking it so the looks weren't as great as they were supposed to be and I have to admit I'm not the best cook and for me making rice was difficult because I always end up burning it now imagine sweet rice that has a lot of steps and ingredients. Pff such a fun but a little bit complicated task.

In the first Kindergarten some of the kids were reluctant to eat it, maybe because of the looks and some because they said rice is supposed to be salty "How can rice be sweet?". I didn't judge them because as a picky eater I don't eat a lot of stuff. Also it was someone's birthday and they had cake so between something they had never eaten before and chocolate cake what would you choose? (if you want tell me in the comments).

On the second kindergarten the kids ate it and asked for more. I was so amazed by all of that, and so happy and proud of myself, I have to be honest a couple of months ago I was so afraid of cooking that I didn't even made pasta or something simple like an egg but now I'm making Portuguese deserts and dishes. Coming to Romania made me grow up.
