These
last two weeks we have been practiced the famous song The wheels on the bus (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WJgeaB3M2vQ)
with the kids.
Songs
are a perfect tool to teach languages to children, with them we can practice
different aspects of English in a motivating and fun way. How did we do? First of all we selected only some parts of the song
that had correspondence in its Romanian version. Then we played the song and after
listening to it we repeated the lyrics several times making the children repeat
at the same time.
This
song is really usufull because it has some easy to remember sounds for
children, in this way they can relate these sounds to words in English. Also we
practiced the pronuntation of the words to improve it. After singing in English
we went to the Romanian version, in which children can better recognize the
meaning of the song.
After
this first session in which we learned the song we continued practicing it
during different days, remembering the lyrics, which was easier with the
sounds.
We will continue practicing, singing and traveling in our intercultural bus.
